Small Projects
While we do projects from foundations to roofs as well as major additions, small projects are an essential part of BH Contracting Services. Small projects include water repair, drywall patching, window and door replacement, and more. Our carpenters are experienced in all areas of home building and remodeling.
We bring the same professionalism and quality to our small projects as we do to our large remodels and we stand behind our work with our craftsmanship warranty.
General Contracting and Remodel
Growing up in the construction industry, the owner has varied experience in managing job sites and general contracting. This background includes the coordination of trade specialists such as electricians, plumbers, and HVAC specialists. We believe this is a major component of contracting services and have hand selected our trade specialists based on reputation. This standard gives us the confidence and ability to facilitate our projects from start to finish with minimal oversight and cost over runs.
In remodeling it is important to keep in mind the integrity of the structure while giving a face lift to a home. From vintage home to classic rambler, we strive to match the existing look of a home, all the while, ensuring internal features remain intact.
Another critical factor in remodel is dealing with the unknown. In remodel, it is not a question of "if" the unexpected will happen, but "when" it will happen. It then becomes paramount "how" a contractor deals with such setbacks. Having a wealth of knowledge and a ready idea pool is a huge asset in managing the unforeseen. This is one of BH Contracting Services greatest strengths and it gives us great satisfaction in serving our clients in such a fashion.
Additions
Through the combination of our carpenters' experience and the owner being a second generation contractor with a background in custom and spec home construction, whe have acquired the knowledge needed to make changes look like they were part of the existing structure. Our additions flow seamlessly with the original structure which is a true test of a remodeling company.
Additions include: second story additions, add ons, raising homes, dormers, and changing flat roofs to cathedral ceilings.
Design Build
In a Design-Build process our clients benefit from the professional partnership of BH Contracting Services and design services from one of our architects. We work with our client and the architect as a team to ensure the most efficient and cost effective project.
We start with conceptual sketches and leave you with a finished home.
Quality restorations start with quality pre-construction planning. Our design team blends technology with traditional hand-drawings to discover the best way to update a home or create an addition.
We model the project in our architectural software, then draft a series of pencil sketch possibilities. Our goal is to make the house beautiful and personal, useful and unique. After establishing the space plan and flow, we work with clients to choose personalized finishes. The result is a full set of detailed plans that will successfully begin the project and carry it to the completion.
Interior Design
As an additional service for BH Contracting Services clients, we have partnered with two interior designers and remodeling experts, Colleen Wiley of Interior Moods and Diana Cutler of DC Designs. Both offer you personalized attention when it comes to designing or remodeling your living space. Using innovative techniques, they provide individualized analysis based on the client's needs, desires, lifestyle and goals, to create a peaceful and comfortable environment that reflects its owners. They understand that listening and communicating with clients about their style and budget is key to staying on track, while enhancing their vision and keeping it intact.
Water Restoration
Water damage to a home can be very destructive. At BH Contracting Services, our goal is to provide all that is required to get your life and your home back to normal.
Our understanding of construction design enables us to fix and put a home back together, after it has suffered water damage. We strive to ensure a structurally sound home after repairs have been completed.
Earthquake Home Retrofit
In 2007 the BH Contracting Services team became certified in seismic retrofitting and began working on various projects in the Seattle area. Our team has the requisite knowledge and expertise in all areas of seismic requirements and upgrades in residential construction, as well as the wide variety of soil conditions that exist in the Puget Sound area. Our projects have included underpinning of existing structures, retainment systems on hillsides, foundation upgrades and replacements, and replacing post and beam supports with new foundations.
